SearchMyCampus.com was created with a view to bring the traditional campus noticeboard online. The idea is to provide students with a virtual platform where they can advertise their basic needs such as housing, jobs, books, tuitions, carpools. A student looking for accommodation, for instance, could post an advertisement describing his/her budget, preferred location and required facilities. In the new version various features have been introduced such as Discussion forums, to provide students with an additional platform to interact with each other for mutual benefit. Apart from the new features, changes in the layout and upgrades to several existing features have been made to improve user experience. A significant addition to the Jobs category has been the option provided for students to upload their resumes when posting an advertisement. Posting notices has been made easier with the introduction of user accounts and SMS facilities. Users can choose to receive responses via SMS or e-mail based on their preference. Search facilities have become far more comprehensive, making it easier for users to locate exactly what they need.
